These pictures show the Big Tree deck from outside in August 2022. The deck can be a very pleasant sitting and dining area but can get very hot because of its openness to the sun, which shines directly into guests' eyes in the morning and heats up the roof on sunny days. This year we planted casuarina and eucalyptus saplings (two of each) in the gap between the deck and the front fence, and we look forward to enjoying their shade and beauty in the coming years.
